Mawwage. Mawwage is what bwings us togedaar todaay.

The date was May 6, 2010. The time, 11:00 am. The event, the marriage of this crazy girl named Cynthia to an even crazier guy (for marrying her) named Chris.

Long story short: I'm happily married. For almost 2 months.

My wedding day feels like a dream. I got up ridiculously early in order to make sure I would be ready on time. Chris and I had our own private tender moment before the temple ceremony. Then we went to the temple and were sealed for time and all eternity. I can barely believe my luck. I met and married one of the most amazing men in all of existence.

Much of my family was there. Chris's entire immediate family was there. We were all united for a good cause...in freezing temperatures outside the temple taking pictures. If only the temperature could have gone up say....40 degrees. ;) Out of my whole family who could make it, I wasn't happier to say any of them than I was to see my mom.

With my mom's cancer, we weren't sure she'd make it. We hoped. We prayed. We assumed. We were pretty sure...but what if my wedding day was a bad day? And the previous concern had been "what if the cancer spreads too fast?" To no avail the doubts assailed us because she was there! And it was beautiful. Having my mom at my wedding was one of the most precious moments of my life.

The reception was beautiful too. My cousin's sons decorated the church house. It was one of the most gorgeous receptions I've seen...and it didn't need a reception hall to make it like that!

Old neighbors, friends, family, ward members all came and visited. I hugged a lot of people I barely knew...if I'd even met them at all. Having my family around, again was the most important part. Will seemed to avoid pictures though... my friend who took them ended up photoshopping him into the family pic at the recetption...

Near the end I got to cut into my delicious wedding cake...I wish I could have eaten more. But the line being what it was...we were stuck in it most of the night. My cake turned out beautiful though! And like I said, very tasty!

My favorite "decorations" were my two nieces who played flower girls. Their dresses were absolutely beautiful! Props to my sister for coming up with the idea and her friend for designing/sewing them! They turned out even better than the brides maid dresses--though my bride's maids were stunning as well!

At the end of the night...I did what every bride does: I threw my bouquet. I caught my friend Laurel's bouquet last December, got married 5 months later. The girl who caught my bouquet? My friend and bride's maid Natalie. She's getting married this September. 4 months after my wedding. So...to whomever catches Natalie's bouquet: be prepared to get married 3 months after you do!!! ;)

All in all, my wedding was a fabulous success. 2 months later, and I'm still incredibly happy. I have the rest of eternity to enjoy what I got myself into! It won't all be easy, but I know it will all be worth it.

Sometimes I still feel guilty about getting married and not being there for my mom, but having her at my wedding meant the world to me and I know it meant a lot to her. If I could go back, I wouldn't change a thing...except maybe the temperature. ;)
